Des Moines No. 9 Among ‘Best’ Cities
A new Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine report says Des Moines is among the nation’s top 10 places to live, work and play. Des Moines came in ninth on the Best Cities for 2008 list.
The edition with the city rankings will be available at newsstands on June 10.
Topping the list was Houston, followed by Raleigh, N.C.; Omaha; Boise, Idaho; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Austin, Texas; Fayettville, Ark.; Sacramento, Calif., Des Moines; and then Provo, Utah.
The Washington-based magazine evaluated the cities on their economies, living costs and the entertainment and activities available to residents.
